Senior Prof. Upul Subasinghe named Vice Chancellor of University of Sri Jayewardenepura

Senior Professor Upul Subasingha has been appointed as the new Vice Chancellor of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake. The university has expressed confidence that his leadership will usher in a new era of academic excellence and innovation.

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has appointed Senior Professor Upul Subasinghe as the Vice Chancellor of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.

Professor Subasinghe currently holds the position of Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences at the same university.

He earned a B.Sc. (Hons) and a Ph.D. from the University of Wales and is recognized as a Chartered Biologist in Sri Lanka.

According to the university, Senior Prof. Subasinghe is a highly respected academic and researcher whose leadership, vision, and dedication to excellence have greatly benefited the institution and higher education in the country.

The university congratulated him on his appointment and expressed the belief that he will guide the institution toward a new phase of academic achievement, innovation, and national service.
