Former US President Donald Trump has renewed threats to destroy Iranian bridges and power plants if a nuclear deal is not reached, claiming he could demolish most bridges in less than an hour. In a Fox News interview, Trump said he would avoid targeting desalination plants to spare the civilian population.
US President Donald Trump has once again threatened to destroy Iranian bridges and power plants, despite ongoing efforts to resume diplomatic talks.
In a phone interview with Fox News' “Fox & Friends,” Trump stated: “If they don’t make a deal, then I go back and I finish the job. But that’s going to take them forever to rebuild. Already, it’ll take them many years to ever to rebuild.”
He added, “And if I go back and finish up the job, as some people would like, with the bridges … very easy, I could take out most of their bridges in less than an hour, less than an hour.”
Trump also mentioned he could target power plants, calling them “the hardest thing to build” and bridges “the longest thing to build.”
However, he said he would avoid attacking desalination plants, explaining, “And who am I hurting there? I’m hurting the people. So I’m not looking to do that.”
